Men’s October BMW Medal and Luckiest Ball on Earth at the Emirates Golf Club

Dalip Tripathi and Marcus Wallman produced some superb golf over the Majlis course in the October edition of the BMW Monthly medal.

A fantastic turnout of 95 players competed in the medal which also doubled up as a qualifier for the Luckiest Ball on Earth, an initiative of the Dubai World Championship, presented by DP World.

The field produced some fantastic scoring with Dalip Tripathi signing for a net 66, the 7-handicapper carded a gross 73 that included birdies on the par three fourth and long tenth holes. With only three bogeys on his card, Tripathi produced consistent golf and his 6-under par tally was enough to win Division A (handicap 0-12) by two shots from Marcus Wallman. Wallman was happy to take runners-up position in the net category as he recorded the best gross of the day, a superb 71. On a day of good scoring three competitors fired two under par tally’s of 70 but it was Ali Alami who claimed third place in Division A with a better back nine.

B Division (handicap 13-24) also produced some excellent scores with Dhiren Harchandani taking top prize with a 67 closely followed by Sudhir Vora in second and Sungku Kim in third. Prem Amarnani went out amongst the early starters and produced an excellent 68 to triumph in Division C (Handicap 25 and above).

Dalip Tripathi not only secured the best net score of the day but he also qualifies for the Luckiest Ball on Earth Grand Final to be held on Earth course, Jumeirah Golf Estates on Tuesday 15th November. In addition Alan Salem won a spot in the Grand Final by finding the Lucky Ball on the Driving Range prior to teeing off. He fortunately noticed on the top of his back swing before dispatching down the range. Tripathi and Salem will join 58 other qualifiers in the Grand Final with the winner gaining a coveted spot in the Rolex Pro-am to be held on Tuesday 6th December playing alongside one of the leading professionals in the world.
