Dubai Creek take the ICC Ladies Final

9 Ladies teams battled it out at Dubai Creek for the chance to win the ICC Ladies Final 2020

The usual hubbub of the clubhouse on a Wednesday morning was elevated to new levels as 90 Ladies from all corners of the UAE arrived at Dubai Creek for what promised to be an exciting and competitive day of golf, battling to claim victory in the Ladies ICC Final 2020.

The shotgun start got underway with ruthless efficiency as always with play beginning at 12:45pm on the nose. The golfers were met with perfect weather conditions as a light breeze ruffled the flags atop the thoughtfully-selected and challenging pins.

Out of the nine teams in attendance yesterday, four were competing in the ICC Final (Dubai Creek, Emirates Golf Club, Jumeirah Golf Estates and Els Club), with the remaining five (Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club, Address Montgomerie, Women’s Golf Middle East, Trump International and Arabian Ranches) competing for the Best Team of the Day prize. With the best eight from ten stableford scores to count, it really would take a tremendous team effort to seal the deal.

Players returned to the clubhouse in varying states of enthusiasm about the quality of golf but all with broad smiles on their face and the tournament committee set to work collating the scores.

After careful checks were made, they were delighted to announce that the winners of the Ladies ICC Final 2020 was the home team, Dubai Creek with 268 points! In a close second was Emirates Golf Club with 255 points, followed by Jumeirah Golf Estates (224) in third place and Els Club (217) in fourth place. The victory comes at the end of a stellar year for Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club who have dominated leaderboards across the nation.

Our best individual score of the day came from within the Creek team as Jung Rye Kim scored an incredible 41 points!

Dubai Creek’s Golf Services Executive, Thomas Hall concluded the prize giving by saying, “It is so encouraging to see the women’s game thriving and we are so grateful to the Emirates Golf Federation, and Dubai Golf for helping us get golf in the region swinging again after the foibles of this year. Congratulations to all of our winners this year and this season and we look forward to defending our title next year!
