Members of the UAE Indian Golfers Society embark on a golf tour of Scotland

Members of the Indian Golfers Society will embark on a tour of Scotland to experience the thrill of playing the game in the spiritual home of golf and learn more about the robust traditions and history of the country which is about the same size as the UAE.

During the week-long tour, which is supported by Chivas, the IGS members will pit their skills against some of the best courses and, hopefully, return home stronger as players. The tour, starting on May 21, will be the fourth in as many years, underling the growing IGS-Chivas association.

“A golf trip to Scotland is described as a pilgrimage for all those people with a passion for this vibrant sport,” said David Freeborn of Chivas. “And we are delighted to be part of this tour which is growing in popularity over the years.
“In fact, we have been involved with IGS for almost 12 years and are proud of our successful relationship which we hope to further build on as we move forward,” he said, adding: “Events, like this one, provides us with an opportunity to promote our brand and socially interacts with the members of the society.”

In the run-up to the tour, the IGS organized the Chivas Corporate Challenge and the winners of the 10th edition of the event — Ashok Kumar and Madhav Nair – won an all-expenses-paid trip to Scotland besides attractive Claret Jug-styled trophies. The two will join about a dozen more IGS enthusiasts in making the trip to Scotland.
K.J. Singh, chairman of the IGS, lauded Chivas for its continued support to the society, saying: “They have been a steady partner in our journey as we strive to make our activities more vibrant and appealing to our members.
“I am sure the golfers travelling to Scotland will enjoy the Scottish hospitality and savour the experience of playing on courses overflowing with a wealth of history and tradition.”
