Aces High for Pollock’s team in summer Golf Tournament at Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa

Glen Pollock guided his team of Joe Long, David Grindlay and Rodney Pippin in fine style to capture the July Summer fun tournament at the Resort Course, where each player was given a suit from a pack of cards.

Random cards were attached to each pin and if a player’s suit matched the card on the pin they would earn double Stableford points on that hole.

The card suit was only revealed once the players reached the green, meaning everyone had to be on their toes. Each of Glen’s team played exceptionally well to score a team total of 65 points over 9 Holes, with the best two scores counting per hole.

In second place was the team consisting of Andy Gomes, Phil Elliot, Bert Maguire and Joel who scored a combined 62 points.

To fall into the “Play Your cards Right” theme, Jebel Ali organised the famous Manchester magician, Phil Fenton to perform some amazing card tricks during dinner. After the meal the real fun began as a knock out ‘Play Your Cards Right’ reenactment was arranged with hosts Bruce McMurdo, Bruce Fee and Bruce Bull from the Jebel Ali team. The eventually winners were Duncan Watson, Robert Siegel and Keith Royson who certainly played their cards right!
