Louis Oosthuizen holds a holiday Golf clinic at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort

Louis Oosthuizen, the 2010 Open Champion, took time out of his family holiday to pass on valuable tips to the next generation of golfers during his recent stay at Jebel Ali Golf Resort. The 32-year-old South African from Mossel Bay touched upon the basics of the game and demonstrated his flawless technique during the clinic.

He also enthusiastically answered questions on how he started the game, the importance of good basics, rhythm and timing and narrated fabulous stories and insights of his life on tour to the spell-bound youngsters.

“I just hope they enjoy it, have fun doing it. At this early stage, learning golf skills is less important than just having fun. Once you have that enthusiasm, you’ll work on it yourselves,” he told young golf enthusiasts.

“It’s all about enjoying the golf experience and trying to get better every time to go the course,” said Oosthuizen, who finished runner-up in the 2012 Masters Tournament.

“He was just how I had imagined and seen on the television — a lovely guy, very encouraging to the children and so generous with his time, a true model professional,” commented a thankful James Williams, Director of Golf at Jebel Ali Golf Resort.
