Still Keeping it Green with Peter Harradine

I think that this tour is another fantastic Dubai-driven idea.

Hallo All,

Well this is the second column that I have ever written and I was already asking myself What am I going to write about next?

But the Ryder Cup and the MENA tour saved me!

Let me start with the Ryder Cup: WOW! and WOW again!

Everything that had to be said has been said.

I will not dwell on the unbelievable birdies, putts, frustrations, chokings, bad luck, lucky breaks and all the other exploits and disappointments that gave this year’s event so much excitement!
Everything that had to be said has been said.
Many, many newspapers, magazines, television and radio stations have already written and talked about those incredible deeds which were also propagated by innumerable communications by the users of facebook, twitter and blogs (is that what they’re called?)
I just hope that all this euphoria will pass the message on to the non-believers, skeptical and uncertain non-golfers, by generating new interest in the sport and will confirm what we all know: Golf is the best game
(sport) in the world! Oh yes, it is!
I also hope that this match will convince all those euro skeptics out there that United Europe is the only way to go! We are definitely the best if we are united. Not only in golf but in anything else we decide to do! Despite the obvious problems.

So what about the MENA tour?
Well, I think that this tour is another fantastic Dubai-driven idea.
I do not really know who initiated it but I certainly congratulate the person or persons who thought about it.
The MENA tour will definitely provide an enormous opportunity to UAE citizens and qualified local residents alike to experience the very special ambiance and the atmosphere felt during those tournaments.
It might also convince some professionals that they are not really cut out for that particular type of life or have not or never will reach the required standard to succeed.

“The MENA tour will definitely provide an enormous opportunity.” Peter Harradine

It might also convince some amateurs to turn professional, but those amateurs should really consult their older professional colleagues before taking such an important decision. Life as a touring professional is not easy unless you are in the top 150! That seems a lot but there are many tour professionals out there just scraping a living and camping in cars when they are away from home.
It is, however, very important that the player who decides to turn professional is given all the support he deserves! Turning professional is not an easy decision but is made a lot easier if the player is given full support by his own national golfing authorities.

Ciao Peter Harradine
