Pitman Pipped at the Address Montgomerie Dubai

In the first ECCO medal of the season, Mens Captain Paul Pitman blazed to a superb 72, net 66 with steady play from the blue tees, and holing some good putts on greens that were as slick as The Montgomerie, Dubai members have played on our undulating surfaces.

However, despite his victory in the Gross division, and top points scorer in the new Order of Merit, he could not match the play of Ok Young Cho, who pipped him at the post with a net 65, and therefore she took the 'Lucky Ball' entry into the DWC Pro-Am qualifier to be played at JGE later this year. A desolate Pitman couldn't have come back any better than he did from a poor start, but was glad to award the prizes at the end of the day – our best of luck to Ok Young in her attempt to win the event. Also joining her will be Masoud Sobati, a just winner of the "Lucky Ball' on the range, which was hidden within one of the pyramids; Masoud works hard on his game and is regularly seen at the members only tee grinding out his swing.

Other notables were Naresh Bhambhaney winning division A with 67 ahead of Arshad Khan playing in only his second event as a member, Tom Johansson winning on countback in a closely fought division B, and Ananya Sharma again taking net honors for the ladies.
