Junior Golf program at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club scores a hole in one
The Academy at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club completed their September Junior Golf Program this month. Forty-three children from all over the capital took part in the eight week venture of golf. The golf professionals at Saadiyat have an innovative approach to teaching children the game of golf in a fun and engaging atmosphere.
The program is based on the principles of Long Term Athlete Development. The Academy uses physical and mental activities that are appropriate to the child’s biological age rather than chronological age. In the Level 1 Program, the focus is to develop the children’s fundamental movement skills and fundamental sport skills to develop athletes who can enjoy the game of golf for the rest of their lives.
On the final day all the kids who completed the program were awarded with a Certificate of Achievement as well as a stylish SBGC shirt and cap. These children will have the opportunity to complete the Level 2 Program in the New Year.
The next program on the calendar for juniors at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club is a four week program that will be running weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays commencing on 15th and 19th November 2011.
