Streaming giant GolfTV poised to launch Middle East Golf packages
Discovery backed GolfTV to take over PGA Golf broadcasting rights in the Middle East from OSN
Following recent news that digital broadcaster OSN were dropping all their sports programming on March the 31st (apart from Cricket), Golf fans in the Middle East have been in despair wondering who will step in and take up the PGA and European Tour programming.
Yesterday, it seemed we may have had confirmation on who will be taking up the Golfing baton. Golf correspondent Joy Chakravarty posed this question to GolfTV on Twitter.
When are you planning to start operations in the Middle East, @GOLFTV? The main sports channel showing @EuropeanTour and @PGATOUR events here is shutting the broadcast from April 1.

GolfTV support replied to Joy giving us Golf fans in the Middle East some hope in literally a few days!
Hello Joy, we have an update for you. PGA TOUR events will be available via GOLFTV in the Middle East from April 1st! Please DM us for additional information.

The response seems to be a confirmation that we will be able to stream Golf via the GolfTV App, probably for a yearly fee just like other users. We followed up with a response to see if we could gain more clarification on a European Tour schedule.
We are rolling out with PGA TOUR events for now. An exact launch date for European Tour is yet to available.

It seems we are in good hands with these guys, I hope they resolve the issues ASAP with the Masters and Open around the corner… watch this space!
