Yas Links to host The Invitational World Class Pro-AM

It has been announced that one of the most prestigious Pro-Am tournaments in world golf will next year be held at the stunning Yas Links Golf Club, Abu Dhabi.

The Invitational hosted by Abdullah Al Naboodah, will see some of the world’s best players join forces with 50 invited amateurs for a day of great competitive golf. The Invitational has been held in Dubai for the past four years but next year will see it make its Abu Dhabi debut and Yas Links General Manager, Chris White is relishing the prospect of what promises to be a proud moment in the club’s short history.

“The vision of Aldar properties in the planning and development of Yas Links was to create a unique and unseen golf course in the region that would add value to Yas Island as the region’s leading leisure destination,” says White. “For Yas Links to be chosen as the venue to stage The Invitational hosted by Abdullah Al Naboodah is testament to the unique design and quality of Yas Links. The Invitational has, like Yas Links, established a great reputation in a very short period of time and is considered as one of the best charity sports events in the region with one of the strongest fields you will see in any one day pro-am.”
“Yas Links is extremely proud to be hosting The Invitational in 2011 and looks forward to welcoming some of the world’s best professional golfers and global business leaders to experience the latest masterpiece by golf course architect, Kyle Phillips.”

“Kyle Phillips has created some fantastic golf courses in the UK, Kingsbarns and The Grove are in my top 10 favourite courses that I have played to date. I am extremely excited to host The Invitational and my guests on Kyle’s latest creation at Yas Links” said Abdullah Al Naboodah.
Expected to be in the field for The Invitational 2011 are US Open Champion Graeme McDowell, 2009 European No.1 Lee Westwood, Darren Clarke, Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Paul Casey, Ross Fisher and many more.
