Yas Links Golf Club june 15th weekend round up

Yas Links hosted their ECCO Members Pairs Betterball and participants clearly picked their partners wisely as scoring was particularly impressive and competitive. In third place with 40 points and just piping William Royce and Neil Walker with a better back 3 holes was Ronald Herman and Ahmed Al Menhali. In second place and just missing out on a count back was Emanuel Ostojic and Henry Kim with 41 points. The winning pair storming in with a better back score of 22 points was Alex Barclay and David Stewart.
 
The final of the Yas Links Men’s Match Play was also played this weekend between Yas Links Captain Dan Weisser and Peter Beynon. The two finalists battled it out on the links with Dan one up after 9 holes. The match continued to stay close but it was Dan Weisser who sunk the winning put on the 18th hole to claim the match play title two up. The ladies Match Play Champion was Susanne Haurum who had an equally competitive final match against Agnes Letier Lacaze. Congratulations to you both!

Despite the scorching temperatures the Yas Links Summer Open on Saturday 16th June had a fantastic turn out with 204 players from across the UAE taking to the links. With lots of prizes on offer, the Gross Stableford Winner with 36 points and a gross score of level par (72) was won by Max Burrows. In the ladies category Soumya Salem won with 40 points, just beating Caroline Lamb  on count back with a better back 9 of 20 points!  The overall junior winner of the competition with an impressive 39 points was Duruv Nair. In the main stableford category 3rd place with 42 points and with a better back 9 score of an almighty 25 points was won by Hilario Clarina.  In second place with an incredible 43 points and just missing out on count back was Thomas Fiala. Thus, The winner of the Yas Links Summer Open 2012 with a better back 9 score of 23 points was Yas Links Member Alex Iapichino!
