Yas Links Abu Dhabi Etihad Open Stableford
On Friday the 13th (July) a date considered unlucky in Western superstitions, Yas Links Abu Dhabi held their Etihad Open Stableford. Despite the glorying heat and high humidity, 28 players ventured onto the links in bid to sink the winning putts. Prizes for the event which are in the form of Etihad Guest Air Miles are split into two categories, category A which is handicaps 0-18 and Category B which is handicaps 19-36. The winner in each category collects 25,000 Etihad Guest Air miles, 2nd place collects 15,000 and 3rd place wins 10,000.
Some fine golfing performances were certainly shown. In category A, 3rd place and just missing out on 2nd was Brain McClure with 36 points, 2nd place going to Emanuel Ostojic who just beat Brian on count back. The winner of this category with a very inspiring 39 points was Alex Barclay. In category B, 3rd Place with 35 points and winning on count back was Seth Leong. 2nd place with 36 points was Randolph Taylor. The winner with an impressive 37 points was Alex Iapichino.
