Xerox completes a golfing hat trick at DP World tour Championship

In a move that brings its support of golf in the UAE to three European Tour events, Xerox Emirates has signed an agreement to support the 2012 DP World Tour Championship. The $8 million tournament, to be held on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates from 22-25 November, will see the company as Official Document Sponsor providing document management and on-site service support for the final event of this year’s Race to Dubai.

Xerox Emirates will provide a range of products and services including desktop multi-function devices, heavy duty printing equipment, on site technical expertise and related services for the Championship Office, the Rules Office, the Media Centre, the Chief Marshal’s Office and the TV Production Office as the top 60 players on The European Tour fight it out for the title, the $1,333,300 first prize and a share of The Race to Dubai Bonus Pool of $3.75 million.

It will be the first time Xerox Emirates has been part of the biggest European Tour event in the region, although it has previously been involved with the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship and the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

“Even in today’s digital age, paperwork is vital at golf tournaments with ongoing facts and figures, daily scores and flag positions constantly having to be updated,” said Nick Tarratt, European Tour International Director, Dubai Office.

“It is vital that we have a reliable flow of information and reliable support services so we welcome Xerox Emirates to the DP World Tour Championship.”

As well as sponsorship involvement with European Tour events, Xerox has hosted the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge – the award-winning Best Corporate Golf Event in the Middle East – for the past 15 years.

The Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge has grown to become one of the most prestigious sporting events on the calendar with this year’s grand final having been staged at Jumeirah Golf Estates, host venue for the DP World Tour Championship.

“We are firm supporters of golf in the region with qualifying rounds for the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge staged across six countries in the Middle East and our support of tournaments in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and now with the DP World Tour Championship,” said Abeer Safa, Marketing Manager, Xerox Emirates.

“Our commitment is to achieving the very highest levels of customer satisfaction and delivering on our promise of quality products and services. Our support of the event infrastructure at Jumeirah Golf Estates allows us to demonstrate that commitment while at the same time supporting one of the world’s biggest sporting occasions. As a result, tournament officials can focus on what is happening on the course instead of worrying about what is going on with document and information flow behind the scenes.”
