Xavier wins Dubai Creek Rotana Ladies Stroke Play

The May edition of the Rotana Ladies Stroke Play was contested recently at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.

The event has grown in popularity over the season and continued to do so this month with a strong field of ladies turning out once more to compete.

The stunning creek course was in great condition and set the stage for a good days play.  Winning on the day was Glory Xavier, who recorded her second victory of the month with a fantastic net 68. After being presented her prize Xavier commented; “I am very happy to have won again today and my game seems to be coming together at the moment.  I would like to say a big thank you to my playing partners and also to my family and friends for their continued support which has played a big part in my recent success”.  Finishing in the runners-up place and just one shot behind Xavier with another sub-par net score of 69 was former Ladies Captain Mego Han.  M S Kim took 3rd spot for her level par net 71.

Naema Maya was also in the winners circle as she picked up the prize for the best gross with a solid score of 84. Harini White was awarded for her accurate tee shot on the par-3 5th as she won the nearest the pin prize there.  Lida Hoekstra proved to have her driving off to a tee today as she won the longest and straightest prizes on the par-4 7th and 12th holes.  Nearest the pin on the 16th went to Ms. G A Cho.

All of the winners received vouchers for the beautiful Zen Spa, compliments of the event partners, Rotana.  After conducting the prize presentation Rashid Hamood, Golf Experience Manager Dubai Creek commented; “It has been a great pleasure to be involved with this event and to watch it grow in stature over the last year.  From myself,  and on behalf of Dubai Creek professional, Craig Waddell I would like to say a big thank you to the sponsors and also  to everyone behind the scenes of this event for all of their efforts and hard work and may we look forward to its continued success”.
