Wright Triumphs in Seniors Championship at the Majlis

Jonathan Wright produced a fantastic performance over the Majlis course to clinch the Seniors Championship with a 76.

Commencing his round on the 10th hole, he dropped 3 shots on his opening nine with bogeys on the 12th, 15th and 16th holes. Further shots were dropped on the 2nd and 4th but a birdie on the 530-yard 3rd hole and five straight pars to finish earned his victory over playing partner Mick Brett. Brett was one of four players who scored a 79 but took runners-up position following a card count back.

Vipen Sethi secured third place following a count back over the final 6 holes. Iain Everingham, also one of the quartet who signed for a 79, took top prize in the over 60’s category.
The net category also produced a winner by a clear 3 shots, Nigel Sale’s 66 was the best of the day with Stathis Stathis (69) in second and Anand Lakhiani (70) in third.
