Wright, Hendry and Lindsay Shine in November Ladies Medal
The November Ladies Monthly Medal over the Faldo course produced some higher scoring than normal with only a brace of players breaking par. Vice captain Glynis Hendry signed for a net 71 to triumph in Silver A Division (handicap 0-14).
The highlights of her round were undoubtedly a pair of birdies on the 4th and 8th holes. Claire Lindsay recorded a level par 73 to take runners-up place but her gross 79 was good enough for best gross of the day.
The other 2-under par 71 came from Kay Wright who clinched Silver B Division (handicap 15-23) by three shots from Barbara Head.
Angela Kammer won Bronze Division (handicap 24-42) following a 75, two shots clear of Karin Gesterkamp.
Simbo’s Skills Challenge sponsored by ABB continued prior to the shotgun start. Club Captain Mike Sim has designed an Emirates Golf Club version of ‘Big Break’, a skills challenge contest over the season to try and find the most skilful golfer at Emirates Golf Club. Lorraine Logan recorded the best score on the day with a 71-point tally. Round one continues in November every Friday and Saturday, those players with the best scores will progress to round 2 in January with the Semi-finals in March and the Final during Mike’s Captains day on 18th May.
