World renowned Golf coach Pete Cowen visits The Academy at Emirates Golf Club
Pete Cowen, who currently coaches some of the best golfers in the world including US Open winner Graham McDowell and Open winner Darren Clarke, spent time with The Academy Professionals at The Emirates Golf Club yesterday in the lead up to the 2012 Omega Dubai Desert Classic, as part of his affiliation with the club.
The partnership means that The Academy Professionals utilize Pete’s experience and expertise first hand during his regular visits to Dubai where he provides insights and training on the latest techniques and training methods.
During his recent visit the key topic of conversation was shoulder stability and the importance of understanding weight transfer for the complete novice.
Head Academy Professional Stephen Deane commented, “Pete brings with him a wealth of knowledge and an enthusiasm for the game. His teaching methods can easily be explained to the novice or experienced player and his theory revolves around strong foundations. He incorporates easy and simple to follow drills which can dramatically improve your student’s game with just 15 minutes practice per day. The award winning Golf Academy was originally established in 1988 and currently teaches over 5000 students per year, from beginners to experienced players and from children as young as four years old. The Academy is staffed by fully qualified PGA Professionals who are available to assist experienced and new golfers enhance their game. A selection of lesson programmes are available including kindergarten golf, junior clinics, ladies mornings, beginners programmes, on course playing tuition and a range of other individual and group lessons. Alternatively, programmes can be personally tailored to suit individual abilities and schedules.
