Wilcox wins the november ERL Monthly Stableford at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club

Charlie Wilcox returned from a long layoff to claim his first returning win by shooting 39 points in the recent ERL Monthly Stableford held at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club on Saturday 24th November. A fine back 9 with Wilcox firing 21 points, the equivalent of being one under par was enough to see him hoist the trophy with 2 points to spare.

Finishing 2 points behind and winning the Division A award was Andrew Say, a long awaited return to the winning enclosure for the 9 handicap golfer, a cracking front 9 helped his cause as he made light work of the two par 5’s by birdying them both. Godfrey McFall claimed the Division B award with a steady 33 points, 2 clear of his nearest divisional rival.

Ever consistent Iranian golfer Hassan Yazdi was the last golfer to pick up a trophy on the day, a score of 28 gross stableford points saw him home as the day’s Best Gross.
All four golfers receive vouchers to be spent in the pro shop, plus Wilcox picked up the commemorative winning trophy.
