Vohra claims second OMA Emirates Medal Championship

Friday 26th October saw the return of the OMA Emirates Medal Championship, in association with i-Insured, which was played on the Majlis course. With a day of relatively high scoring for our second medal of the new season, our overall winner was Mandeep Vohra from Division B (HCP 11-20) carded a solid 69 net strokes. This score meant Mandeep qualified for our annual Men’s Singles Matchplay. The Runner-up in the B Division was Wookhwan Kim, close by with a net 70, which never the less just managed to beat Sudhir Vora on a Better Back 9 count back who also had a net 70.

In the A Division (HCP 0-10), finishing on top of the pack was Anil Shivanna with a great score of 71 net. Anil Kumar came second with a net 72, Anil had a better back 9 than Dash Dhawan who came third with a net 72. The best gross on the day went to Ewan Cameron with a 4 over par 76.

In the C Division (HCP 21-28), our winner was Philip D’Abo, scoring a net 73. Sanjaya Sood claimed the Stableford prize in the Medalford format, having carded 36 points. Our Ladies Stableford Event winner was Naima Maya who had a fantastic score of 40 points. Maura Duggan was our Runner-up also with a great score of 36 points.
