UAE Students to get Golfing education at Dwc

Children studying at schools operated by local education provider Taaleem will have the chance of improving their golfing knowledge courtesy of the organisers of the forthcoming Dubai World Championship presented by DP World.

The $7.5 million tournament, to be staged at the Earth course, Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 25-28, has issued free season tickets to Taaleem schools – such as Uptown High, Jumeirah Baccalaureate and Raha International – to distribute among the multi-national 4,000 students and their parents as part of the celebrations around the final tournament in the 2010 Race to Dubai.
 
“The Dubai World Championship is a unique event that will have something for everyone in terms of sport, entertainment and F&B so we look forward to welcoming the students and their parents to the Earth course,” said Dubai World Championship director Colin Smith.
 
“We want the city to share in the excitement of the last tournament of the season and help us celebrate what has been an historic year for the players of the European Tour.”
 
As well as three Major winners from 2010 – Martin Kaymer, Graeme McDowell and Louis Oosthuizen – the event will also feature the entire winning European Ryder Cup team, including World Number One Lee Westwood, with the best 60 players battling it our for the lion’s share of the prize fund and a slice of the US$7.5 million Bonus Pool.

Free tickets for the season ending Dubai World Championship presented by DP World are available from branches of Costa and MMI as well as from Dubai’s golf clubs, while spectators can also register for complimentary tickets on the website www.dubaiworldchampionship.com.
