UAE’s newest course The Track looks to inspire people young and old to get into golf

The newest golf course in the UAE is determined to go where few golf courses in the region have gone before by reaching out to golfers and non-golfers throughout the emirate. Further to their pay-and-play only policy, the club is also utilizing social media extensively to appeal to digitally-savvy would-be golfers throughout the UAE.
From October, The Track launched a monthly competition prize giveaway through Facebook offering members of its group everything from free equipment to complimentary tuition.
Randeep Singh, a 17-handicaper from Dubai, walked away with a brand new TaylorMade Ghose Manta putter and a selection of The Track apparel after winning the club’s Facebook competition last month.

A keen golfer, Randeep said he’s delighted to have been chosen as the latest winner.

“This is a fantastic club and I’m over the moon that I was chosen as the winner,” he said.

“I hope this putter will make all the difference to my game and help me bring my handicap down.

“I’m the biggest hitter in the family but the highest handicapper. The missing link has always been my putting so I’m really grateful to The Track for selecting me as the winner of this brilliant prize.”

A month of free lessons were up for grabs on the club’s Facebook for their November promotion with more great offers for the region’s golfers in the pipeline for future months.

Paul Dennis, General Manager, The Track, Meydan Golf said: “We are a very different golfing proposition to anything else you’ll find in the region and we are proud of what we offer golfers of all levels.

“We aim to make the sport fun and accessible for everyone and our social media interaction is all part of that.

“With a little bit of luck and his brand new putter, we hope to see Randeep rolling in a few more putts on our greens very soon.”

Separately, the course welcomed its third hole-in-one in November.  Nick Silvester will now have his name added to a hole-in-one leaderboard that is already beginning to look crowded.

Tom Rourke, Head Golf Professional at The Track, said; “At this rate we will run out of space on the board within a couple of years.

“It seems like the region’s golfers have taken a liking to our par-3s, which are certainly both a very good challenge.

“Congratulations to Nick Silvester, who by all accounts hit a brilliant shot into our 6th green to score himself an ace.”
