UAE National Golf Teams ready

UAE National Ladies & Junior Golf Teams Looking For Strong Performances at the Historic 2019 Pan Arab Golf Championship

On September 24th – 26th 2019, four (United Arab Emirates) UAE National Golf Teams will be competing in the 2019 Pan Arab Golf Championships host by the Arab Golf Federation (AGF) in Cairo, Egypt. The 2019 championship will be a year to remember as this will be the 20th edition of the 18 and 15 & Under Division and it will be the first time that the Arab Golf Federation will be introducing the newly created Boys 13 & Under Division. Held at the Dreamland Golf Resort this year’s championship will be exciting for all federations and players participating.

“By introducing the Boys 13 & Under Division this is showing how much the game of golf is growing in the region and across the Arab Nations. The UAE is taken full advantage of this new division and we feel that our young boys will have a strong performance,” said UAE National Team Manager and Emirates Golf Federation Secretary General Mr. Khalid Mubarak Al Shamsi.

Representing the UAE on the Boy 13 & Under National Team will be brothers Rashed Al Jassmy and Sultan Al Jassmy. The brothers have good chemistry and have worked hard in the Emirates Golf Federation National Junior Development Program. The Al Jassmy’s also represented the UAE on the 15 & Under Team at the GCC Golf Championship where the team finished with the Silver Prize. Abdullah Al Suwaidi will be the last member of the 13 & Under Squad. Abdullah will be playing in his first international tournament and after a strong summer of training, he is ready to compete.

Playing for the UAE Ladies National Team will be Reema Al Heloo, Alia Al Emadi, and Hamda Al Suwaidi. This will be the 11th edition of the Pan Arab Ladies Championship, which is continuing to see growth in participation each year.

As always the Junior Pan Arab Golf Championship hosts two different divisions, the 18 & Under and 15 & Under Division. 2019 marks the 20th year of this events that is another milestone for the Arab Golf Federation.

On the Boys 18 & Under UAE Team Rashid Al Emadi will be leading the way. Rashid has had a strong summer of training and representing the UAE at the recent Junior Asia-Pacific Golf Championship that was held in Japan. Back Rashid will be Khaled Al Mutawa and Rayan Al Maazmi.

The Boys 15 & Under Team will made up of Obaid Al Heloo, Mohamed Ahmad Makki, and Hami Faqihinejad. With Mohamed and Hami making their first international appearance Obaid will be looking to lead the team to a top spot.
Mr. Al Shamsi continued to say, “Our teams have been working hard over the summer and the past four month in preparation for this event. We hosted a summer camp and multiple team qualifiers in order to select the best players to represent the UAE. This year is speacal for us, and the Arab Golf Federation. We have some new players and with the new division we are hoping to make our players families’ and the UAE proud.”
The 13 & Under Division will be played over two rounds but other the divisions will be played over three rounds. The championship will have Team and Individual winners in each division. For the Team Category, the final score will consist of the top two gross scores, out of three players each round, totaled after all rounds are complete. The Individual Category will be scored as the best individual gross score from each division.
