UAE Junior Golfers win the recent GCC Golf Championship in Oman
The UAE juniors proved their mettle by claiming the champions’ title at the recent GCC Golf Championships, by a clear margin of 12 shots. The team comprising of Abdulla Al Qubaisi, Ahmed Skaik & Ahmed Al Budoor, produced some stunning performance over the Al Mouj golf course at Waves Muscat.
Hosts Oman took runners up position and Bahrain was placed third further 2 shots behind.
UAE team also won the Net division over Oman.
Abdulla Al Qubaisi won individual third (gross) and individual runner up (net) prizes while Ahmed Skaik took individual third (net)
Khalid Mubarak Al Shamsi, Secretary General, Emirates Golf Federation & UAE National Team manager, expressed his delight over the remarkable feat by junior team, “We are extremely proud of this achievement. Our juniors have ascertained that with clear focus, dedication and rigorous training we can achieve our goals. In 2012 our junior team was placed in third position, in a year they have made a great stride. We hope for bigger honours in future,”
