Tower Links and Al Hamra beat Arabian Ranches to take league B Final match
Tower Links / Al Hamra beat Arabian Ranches Golf Club by 2 ½ points to 1 ½ points to claim 4 ½ league points at Al Hamra Golf Club, Ras al Khaimah to take League B to take it to the final round robin match.
The 2011 – 2012 UAE Invitational Scratch Golf League began back in November 2011 and is now coming to a fitting climax.
Of the 24 original round robin matches involving 12 teams, six matches remain, four in League A, one in League B and a dead rubber in League C.
The final match in League B sees Sharjah Wanderers / Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club v Tower Links / Al Hamra Golf Club – Ras al Khaimah and play on March 3rd with the home club requiring a 4-0 win to qualify for the semi-finals.
The Invitational Scratch Golf League has a fourball betterball scratch matchplay format involving 8 players a side. Each winning team gains its points won in addition to a win bonus of a further 2 points. A losing team just gains its points won and a halved game results in 3 points for each team.
