The Worlds top 3 golfers in Dubai soon but are you going to be there?

Dubai is blessed as the Worlds top 3 golfers compete in Dubai

The Worlds top 3 golfers in Dubai? It has been an exciting few weeks of ‘Golf’ here in the Gulf and it’s far from over.

Following on from the Kaymer Abu Dhabi procession we had Casey winning the inaugural Volvo Golf Champions crown at the Royal Golf Club in Bahrain. The Qatar Masters is about to start this week with a strong field and to top it all off the tour is back on the UAE shores with the Dubai Desert Classic, a mouth watering climax to the new look swing.

Of course being UAE Golf Online I am going to concentrate on the Classic which I am looking forward to enormously with the worlds’ top 3 in action.

The crowds should be flocking in this year, especially with the line up, the Metro station in action directly outside the club entrance, the refurbished iconic Majlis Clubhouse and the return of Tiger. This all adds up to an exciting prospect and the icing on the cake for another chapter in UAE Golf folklore.
It will be interesting to see if the crowds do turn up at Emirates Golf Cub, because last year there seemed to be a few less than previous years with the current economic climate taking some of the blame.

Will Kaymer continue his “Desert Swing form” in the UAE? It will be a solid test for him up against Westwood and Tiger, not to mention the current in-form holder Jimenez. I am eager to see if the organizers can pair the worlds top 3 together on the opening 2 days, that would be a great spectacle to follow and I definitely will be there!

With the news going around that the proposed Dubai Tiger Woods Golf development has now been postponed. I wonder if Mr Woods will take a little visit to the resort while he’s here? Maybe he could go and play a few of the grassed holes for some practice? I can just see that now, certainly would make for some good Golf PR ;-)

So moving on, we hope you can get yourself to the Classic, if not then put the TV on and watch the players battle it out on the Majlis. Don’t forget you can follow me on Twitter through the whole event via @uaegolfguide and read the reports on the website.
We are also following the local UAE Golf Pro Callum Nicoll, who qualified for the event. Callum also added his own blog/column about the preparations and practice, you can read his Q N A session in the content section.

UAE Golf Online is aiming to put together a special report on the Omega Dubai Desert Classic week with some interviews and features on the event, so watch this space to see if we can pull it off!

If you have already noticed or not, the Website has been completely revamped with many more features to come.
