The West Team Finally Prevails in The 5th annual Dubai Creek Cup

The 5th annual Creek Cup was played over the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club Course on Friday 20th May. All the players were split into two teams from East and West of Dubai for a truly international showdown.

 

Club Captain Joseph Andrade captained the East team and Vice-Captain Ara Nakhnikian captained the West team.

The second to the eleventh highest points scores were added up to decide the winning team and for the first time in the last four years the West finally prevailed. Club Vice-Captain, Ara Nakhnikian lead the team to a grand total of 315 stableford points to whitewash the East team who finished with only 302 points.  The ten contributing players were Warren Panting 33pts, Stephen Fidler 33pts, Adam Sweeny 33pts, Rabih Sfeila 33pts, John Wright 32pts, Vanessa North-Panting 31pts, High Bishop 30pts, Mark McCarthy 30pts, David Gowans 30pts and Charles Jones with 30pts.   

The best individual prize of the day went to Madhav Nair with a very respectable 37 points in the heat and humidity.  Runner up was Craig McBride with 36 points by virtue of his back nine by one point from third place K.S Park.  Other prizewinners were Amit Chhabra and Kevin Zlevor with nearest the pin and long drive.
