The Professional team captained by Malcolm Young win 12th Dubai Golf Trophy

The Professional team captained by Malcolm Young won the twelfth edition of the Dubai Golf Trophy. Fraser Mclaughlan and Ryan Smith triumphed in their singles fixtures simultaneously on the 16th and 15th respectively to enable the professional outfit to reach the 16 and a half point winning tally.

The Professionals finished on 17 points with the amateurs led by Miki Mirza on 15.
Going into the final day the professionals led 10 – 6 after a series of fourballs and foursomes matches and were rightly confident going into the 16 singles matches. But it was the amateur team that started quickly over the Faldo course by losing only two matches from the opening 8 games. Ahmed Al Musharrekh halved with Young in the lead game, victories followed from Dan Hendry, Craig Forrest, John Fellingham, Xander De Wet and a further half point from amateur captain Miki Mirza started their fight back. Calum Nicol and Dong Lee made it three wins out of three with emphatic triumphs.
