The ninth qualifying round of the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge to tee off at Kuwait’s Sahara Golf & Country Club

Golfers in Kuwait are encouraged to form two-person teams and register on www.xeroxcgc.com for a chance to play in the grand finals in RAK, UAE, in December.

“Golfers in Kuwait are eagerly awaiting the 2014 Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge and we are happy to bring it to the magnificent Sahara course this Saturday,” said Dan Smith, Director, Integrated Marketing, Xerox Middle East & Africa.. “It is through the support of our regional partners, and the players that has led the Challenge to be recognized thrice as the ‘Best Corporate Golf event in the Middle East’. ‘We do expect that the winning Kuwaiti team will put in a strong effort in their bid to lift the trophy at the grand finals later this year.”

The stunning 18-hole golf course, Sahara Golf & Country Club was built to PGA championship standards. Crafted by Peter Harradine, the designer behind golf courses in Doha and Jebel Ali, this charming and challenging course is 6730 yards long and features three lakes and nearly 5000 trees. Adding to the course’s distinctive character are its 12 holes bounded by the race track of the Hunting and Equestrian Club.

At the grand final of the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge in December 2014, 12 teams will compete for the grand prize through a 2-day grand final hosted in RAK on two iconic golf courses, Tower Links Golf Club and Al Hamra Golf Club, along with overnight stay in the Waldorf Astoria.

Supporting Xerox Emirate’s chosen charity, Noor Dubai Foundation, the 2014 Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge aims to contribute to the company’s 2014 goal of raising US$60,000. This is the cost of one mobile Eye Camp that can bring 4,000 treatments and up to 500 surgeries in a developing nation.

The tournament is supported by sponsors such as Prestige Wealth Solutions, Skandia International, and long-time partner ECCO. Destination Partners for the challenge are Ras Al Khaimah Tourism, Waldorf Astoria (RAK) Al Hamra Golf Club and Tower Links Golf Club.
