The National Junior Programme has received a major boost with Jumeirah Golf Estates

The National Junior Programme has received a major boost with Jumeirah Golf Estates offering youngsters enrolled with the Emirates Golf Federation’s ambitious initiative full use of facilities at their championship Fire course.

Regular practice sessions at the Fire course, designed by Australian legend Greg Norman, will go a long way in preparing the boys for the forthcoming National Junior Championship and other major tournaments.

The UAE boasts a stunning portfolio of world-class golf courses and exposure to these facilities will add to the confidence of young Emiratis as they move forward in their journey to realizing their dream of representing the country one day.

“The facilities for the game in our country are second to none and we would to like involve all clubs in the UAE to be part of this initiative. The clubs, in turn, will also benefit from the programme as all those young Emiratis who are introduced to the game through this programme will eventually become their members, said Saeed Albudoor, general manager of the Emirates Golf Federation.

“We are grateful Jumeirah Golf Estates for coming on board to support the programme which has already creating a big buzz among young UAE nationals who are enthusiastically competing in several events to hone their skills.

“The victory of Hassan Al Musharrekh in the junior division of the recent Arab Golf Championship will help motivate and inspire many Emiratis to take to golf,” he added.
Wayne Johnson, Director of Instructions at JGE, said: “It has been great to see several of the Emiratis from the National Junior Programme practicing and playing here over the past few weeks.

“I hope to see many of the junior team members represent the UAE at international events around the globe. The development and growth of the game in the region is encouraging and we look forward to seeing more and more young UAE nationals taking up the sport through the EGF initiatives.”
