The Emirates Golf federation launches the National Junior Golf Programme in the UAE

The Emirates Golf federation (EGF) launched the National Junior Programme (NJP) aimed at identifying and developing young Emirati players at grass root level.

These youngsters will be provided with training sessions during the golfing season at different clubs across the country.

There is a good pool of youngsters so far, who are honing their golfing skills at different levels in the programme and are in need of a competitive atmosphere. In order facilitate this, the National Junior Programme management created a Par 3 League for the young Emiratis to be played between March and May at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. The inaugural event will be on Monday 14th Mach 2011 for thirty players in two divisions (Division A) for under 16 and (Division B) for under 12 to be played in individual format at the Par 3 course.

Saeed Albudoor General Manager of the Federation commented “We are pleased to introduce these events for our youngsters who are on the programme already and I am sure this is going to be the beginning of many more events that will be organized in the future for our young Emiratis. With a competitive atmosphere to the game, we will soon be seeing some of these players making it to  National Team levels”.

Emirates Junior Golf

The National Junior Programme started in 2010 and is supported by Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, Al Badia Golf Club, Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club, Emirates Golf Club, Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Abu Dhabi City Golf Club. It is open to UAE National juniors who wish take up golf or, if they already play, to improve their skills. UAE boasts some of the finest golfing facilities in the world and the interest in the game has skyrocketed over the years. With support from all clubs, we aim to promote and develop the game at grassroots level. Creating a strong pool of junior players is paramount to producing future generations of Champions.

The National Junior Programme is supported Dubai Duty Fee, Dubai Golf, Pepsi, Al Naboodah Group and EmiratesNBD.
