It’s been a busy day at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic

It is the evening before the 2013 Omega Dubai Desert Classic and it has been a busy day at Emirates Golf Club for UAE Golf Online.

The Spanish golfing armada sailed into town earlier. Current title holder Cabrera-Bello and Garcia gave their thoughts on what lies ahead over the next couple of days on the Majlis. Both guys were their usual charismatic selves and seem eager to get on with things tomorrow and try to make it 4 Spanish winners in a row and in Cabrera-Bello’s case a double!

It was the Pro-Am today at the Emirates Golf Club and we managed to get a few glimpses of Alice Cooper with Lee Westwood, people seemed to be having plenty of good banter with him and getting some great images and memories.

Yes, the biggest names are not here, the DPWTC is in town in December and the Giants are in Abu Dhabi but this event is special. There is a buzz in the air, the club and course are looking good. I have also met many people who have family coming for the event (including myself I might add). So I am expecting a fair crowd, another good event, and some dramatic Golf that the Classic always brings to Dubai.

The weather forecast may be a little windy towards the weekend, so conditions are going to be tougher for the players. This will also add a little more drama into the mix.

Roll on tomorrow for day 1 of the Classic, everything is ready!
