The big names come out to play at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic

It was a day for some familiar names to come back in the Golfing limelight on the second day at the Emirates Golf Club.

The big 3 went out early and all eyes were on them to see if there were any fireworks from the trio. Well one man delivered them and it was Tiger who shot a bogie free round 66 and looked like he was in some sort of form compared to the day before, it definitely seemed that eagle on the last yesterday had given him something extra in his step. Westwood and Kaymer failed to really push through and match Tiger, they scored 70 and 71 respectively on the Majlis.

Rory in the Lead

Elsewhere Rory went out in the afternoon after his superb opening day and took a while to match that, but by the need of the day he -11 after a 68 keeping him in the lead by 1 which puts him in a very good position, especially with his experiences here already including the win 2 years ago.

Thomas Aiken of South Africa also was in and around the leaders and was played very well finishing on 2 67's for the first 2 rounds.

Garcia also shot another 67 to be second in the line after a long spell out. He was enjoying himself out there for the first time in a while and It was good to see him back in contention.

Tiger Day 2

It promises to be a really tantalising final 2 rounds here at the Majlis and a final pairing of Wood Mcilroy or Garcia would be a treat for the bustling Dubai crowds. But there is still a long way to go and there are others in the mix here so we must not forget them.
