Sun Le Rim wins Rivoli Members Monthly Medal at Jumeirah Golf Estates
The March member’s monthly medal sponsored by Rivoli was a challenging event, with the Fire course preserving its reputation as a course not to be taken lightly.
Division A (0 – 12.4 Index) created a noticeable winner this month as a gross birdie birdie finish over the final two holes helped Omer Iqbal Khan to become the medalist of March’s medal.
A very consistent back and front nine of gross 36’s assisted Omer to record a gross level par 72 but more importantly a 4 under par net 68 to win his first medal by 3 shots from fellow member Nadeem Masud who registered a creditable one under par net 71.
In the Gross division, it was a game of two halves for Bilbo Perrot. Bilbo fought deep to return a competitive score after playing the outward nine in 4 over par, 40. Bilbo then proceeded to cover the back nine holes seven shots better, finally returning in 33 to sign for a gross score of 73.
Division B (12.5 – 28 Index) was an extremely low scoring affair when competing for the honours of this category. Winning Division B by two shots was Brad Wylie. His lowest round to date over the Fire course, his front nine consisted of 5 net birdies and a net eagle alone. He continued his sterling golf on the back nine returning in a net 33 to record a majestic overall net score of 63, 9 under par. A net score of 65 certainly directed Dean Stothard to think this may be his tournament, however his round, which consisted of two 2’s, which was nothing to be disappointed about and ironically led Dean into second place. Still breaking the 70 barrier and with a card playoff required to decided third place, Rolf Schilde’s strong back nine finish meant he signed for a 3 under par, net 69.
Sun Le Rim continued her strong performance in strokeplay events by winning the Ladies Division. Returning a creditable score of net 70, Sun won the ladies division after a card playoff with from fellow playing partner, Zuzana Pourova who finished on the same respectable score.
