Summer Hit n Giggles start with a bang at Al Ghazal Golf Club

As the summer is now upon us, the AGGC still hold golf competitions throughout, but with a slight twist!  Every Friday afternoon during the summer months the ‘Hit n Giggle’ [HNG] 4.30 pm shotgun start 9 holes is played over either the front or back 9’s.  The event encourages non-members, beginners, families and friends to have a go at this game called golf and is played in the friendly manner of a Texas Scramble, so it doesn’t matter what standard you are or weather you can play or not you will always be playing with a seasoned member who will be able to guide you round the course.

The first of the events was opened by Past Captain Peter McManus’s ‘Slap Dash dot Com’ HNG.  Peter had added some additional fun events such as special clubs and play from different tees and as everyone finally made it in to the clubhouse everyone was at least smiling!

The winning team with an amazing score of nett 19.2 were himself Peter, Steve, Shaun and Neil, Second place went to Heba, Houssam, Ken and David with a nett 22.9, Third were the team of Didier, Morag, Ian and Saleh    on nett 23.5.  The spoon event called the DDH went to Bradley, Murray, John and new Lady Captain Kate.  Subsidiary prizes were won by Heba Wei and Bernie Blanchard for being nearest to the pin for ladies and men.
