Subhojit Biswas leading Dubai Golf Members Guest Event

Subhojit Biswas on fire! Last weekend saw the Dubai Golf Members-Guest Event sponsored by Barclays take place at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club and Emirates Golf Club. This two-day event was a Pairs Better ball Stableford competition with one Dubai Golf member bringing a guest to play both the Creek and Majlis golf courses, both of which were presented in stunning condition. After the golf was played, all competitors stayed and watched the Ryder Cup in what was a famous weekend for the Europeans!

The winners of Day 1 was the pairing of Emirates Golf Club member Subhojit Biswas and guest Siddarth Dutta with an amazing score of 42 points. This score included a back nine of 22 points and five net birdies! Their score of 42 was enough to hold off the paring of Dubai Creek member Allan Stanton and guest David de Cock who missed out on first prize due to the winner’s better back nine score. Finishing in third position was William Page and guest Johnny Smith after their score of 41 points with a back nine of 23!

Barclays provided four on course prizes meaning competitors would be rewarded for their accurate iron shots on the par 3’s. Winning the nearest the pin on the 5th and 8th holes was Maureen Low and David De Cock respectively. On the back nine, Allan Stanton claimed the nearest the pin honors on the 14th and junior Ailsa Brannock hit it the closest on the 16th.

After the prize presentation, Dubai Creek’s Golf Service Manager Michael Major commented, “Thanks to all the competitors in today’s event and welcome to all the guests I hope you have enjoyed your day! A huge thanks to Barclays for sponsoring this event.”
