Steve Grey’s Superb Performance in Stableford Competition at Al Badia Golf Club

A number of members joined the Member’s Stableford competition at Al Badia Golf Club by InterContinental Dubai Festival City where great performances were manifested by several members who made it in the winner’s circle.

Congratulations to Steve Grey who managed an impressive 43 points. Steve had a solid front nine of 18 points but came alive on the back nine with 25 points which included 5 gross pars and three 4 point holes! This was the first win for Steve and with this form there may be a few more to come.
The winner of Division A was Paul Batson who had 40 points with 19 on the front and 21 coming back. It was a slow start for Paul with only 7 points in the first 5 holes but from then on in had 9 gross pars and 1 birdie. The runner-up in Division A was Sonny Gouri with 38 points. Like most of the players on the day Sonny found that scoring was easier on the back 9. With 5 pars and a birdie Sonny came back with 22 poits.

The winner of Division B was Ning Li. Ning had  41 points overall. The 19 handicap player managed 9 pars on his round. Division B runner-up was George Fitchet with 40 points. George was one of the few players who did most of their scoring on the front 9. George had an 24 points on the outward 9 with four 3 pointers and one 4 pointer.
 Several members made a remarkable performance in the on course special events on the day. The longest drive was driven by Steve Kelshaw while Jaqueline O’Connor made her longest drive on hole 8 in the ladies division. The nearest the pin on hole 7 was secured by Keith Nann.
