Spinks and Varagis claim Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club National Day Greensomes competition
Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club hosted a National Day Greensomes competition to celebrate the UAE’s 42nd National Day.
Players from across the UAE came to Al Ain to play in the Emirates Airline sponsored event. Paul Spinks and Tim Varagis from Abu Dhabi Golf Club came out victorious with a stunning 62 Net to beat the field by 1. The home pairing of Martine and Stephen Garbutt were the Runners up with a score of 63 Net.
Haridas Kondath and Vijayesh Haridas won the 3rd place prize on countback from Alan Salem and Soumaya Salem who both scored 64 to take 3rd and 4th place respectively. The best mixed pair on the day went to Brett and Margie Sloan who scored 65.
The event also had a gross division where the 2 low handicap home players of Jason Neese and Eoin Cunniffe scored 72 to win by 4 clear shots.
Other winners on the day were Margie Sloan who won Ladies Longest Drive, Dane Sandford Snr who won men’s Longest Drive, Paul Spinks and Vijayesh Haridas who both won nearest the pin prizes
