Sohail Al Marzouqi wins the UAE Nationals Monthly Medal at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa

Sohail Al Marzouqi kept his cool when it mattered most to win the UAE Nationals Monthly Medal at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa at the weekend.

A key member of the UAE team that won the recent GCC Junior Championship in Bahrain, Sohail played a solid tee-to-green game to beat a strong field which included many top names like Khalid Yousuf. Riding on five net birdies, including three on the back nine, Sohail carded a brilliant 38 points to take the honours, one point ahead of Mohammed Darwish and Abdullah Al Muharrami.

Both Darwish and Al Muharrami shot an identical 37 points, but the former managed to finish runner-up on a countback.

Leading UAE national golfer Khalid Yousuf made his presence felt, winning the prestigious gross prize with a neat 74 while Faris Al Mazroui (34 points) and Ahmed Al Hosseni (35) reigned supreme in Division A and Division B respectively.
