Singh Hits Top Form in October Mashreq Medal at Emirates Golf Club

K J Singh produced one of his best rounds to date and posted a net 65 to win the October edition of the Mashreq Medal Championship in Association with BMW and Harvey Nichols Dubai.

Singh’s seven under par tally was one shot better than his closest rivals and saw him clinch Division B (Handicap 11-20). His gross 82 included 10 bogeys and eight pars, a very consistent round of golf keeping the dreaded double bogey off the card. The second medal of the new season produced a turnout of 92 players over the magnificent Majlis course. Ian McDonald produced a fine net 66 to take runners-up place in Division B with Rajesh Verma four shots further back in third.

Dalip Tripathi continued his consistent form and signed for a 4-under par 68 to clinch top prize in Division A (handicap 0-10). Manoj Kapur and Nigel Thompson both fired rounds of 70 but Thompson clinched runners-up position after a card count back.
Mohamed Pirmohamed clinched Division C (Handicap 21 and above) with a three under par 69, one clear of Gerard Kehoe.

Once again Harvey Nichols providing prize vouchers for all winners including Ross Hopwood who picked up Aed 1500 for his best gross of the day, a level par 72.
Mashreq Bank is the title sponsor for the 2013 Monthly Medals Series that will be held across both Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. BMW, long standing supporter of the Monthly Medals at both clubs is continuing its association with this prestigious series. Harvey Nichols Dubai came on board from 1st May to support the series in the form of vouchers for their stores.

Over a 12 month period there will be a total of 22 monthly medals across the two Dubai Golf managed clubs. During the months of July and August there will also be joint medals where by Dubai Creek members compete against Emirates members and vice versa. Both clubs will run separate order-of-merits and the top 36 players in both order-of-merits will win a place in the grand final.
