Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club Thai Airways Monthly Medal and Order Of Merit Round 1

Korean golfer B.J Kim proved to be the quickest out of the blocks as he clinched the top award in the returning Orient Travel – Thai Airways Monthly Medal. After a break for the summer, the tough monthly strokeplay event returned which also carries points for the net and gross Order of Merits. Kim carded an impressive 87-17=70 to take the overall prize by virtue of a scorecard playoff.

Scottish golfer William Neilson continues his fine form of late and matched Kim’s score but was the unfortunate golfer to lose out on the countback rule. Third position went to Yasushi Shinohara who finished with a net 72. The best gross of the day turned out to be a closely fought contest, but Iranian golfer Hassan Yazdi just proved superior over South African scratch golfer Ricky Dominguez.

All four winning golfers received commemorative plaques for their efforts, plus they have put themselves high on the Order of Merit leaderboard to kick off the season.
