The 16th Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge (XCGC), the thrice-awarded corporate golf tournament and one of the most prestigious sporting events in the region, has announced its second qualifying round will be played on Emirates Golf Club’s Faldo Course, Dubai, on Thursday,24thApril 2014. Multiple two-person corporate teams will participate and the winners will compete in the 2-day grand final hosted on two iconic golf courses, Tower Links Golf Club and Al Hamra Golf Club, along with overnight stay in the magnificent Waldorf Astoria, in the region’s emerging golf destination, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

Emirates Golf Club, host of the European Tour sanctioned Omega Dubai Desert Classic and Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, was established in 1988 and is the first all-grass championship golf course in the Middle East. Offering 36 holes of world-class golf, the club sports two of the city’s finest must-play courses, ‘The Majlis’ and ‘The Faldo’ Courses, which is also the only 18 hole course in the region to offer night golf.

Andrew Horne, General Manager, Xerox Emirates, said: “We have had a great kick-off to this year’s challenge with 96 executives participating in the first qualifier at Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, and are keen to see the numbers swell with each progressive qualifier. This is cementing our 2014 vision of bringing ‘Corporate’ back into ‘Corporate Golf’. We are proud to support the Noor Dubai Foundation, and help bring a mobile eye camp to a developing part of the world”.

Noor Dubai Foundation is the cause that the 2014 Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge is supporting, and the Challenge aims to raise a sum of US$60,000, which is the cost of one mobile Eye Camp to bring 4,000 treatments and up to 500 surgeries in a developing nation.

Alongside the tournament’s place getter and on-course competition accolades, this year’s XCGC gives the change for the best placed Corporate Team, consisting of 2 executives from the same company, to also claim a prize.

Now in its 16th year, the event adds one more qualifying round for a total of twelve, which will be played in leading golf courses across the Middle East and South Africa. After this round, qualifiers will be held in Doha, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and South Africa. Golfers can visit the new website, www.xeroxcgc.com, for further details regarding all qualifying rounds and registration.

This year’s edition of XCGC is working closely with sponsors such as Prestige Wealth Solutions, Skandia International, and long-time supporter Ecco. Event partners are Crystal Gallery, ProGolf International, Dubai Golf, and OnSide Sports, and media partners are Golf Digest, Sport 360, Arabian Golf TV, and UAE Golf Online. XCGC is excited to partner with Ras Al Khaimah Tourism, Waldorf Astoria (RAK), Al Hamra Golf Club, and Tower Links Golf Club as Destination Partners and hosts of the 2-day 2014 XCGC Grand Final.
