Scotts scoops inaugural Infiniti Cup at Arabian Ranches Golf Club
Graham and Margaret Scott celebrated their return to competitive golf, with a splendid score of 47 Betterball Stableford points at the Infiniti Cup, held at Arabian Ranches Golf Club.
Followed in the Betterball Stableford format, each player used their handicap index as the allowance to take the appropriate stroke index holes. The best net score between two players was recorded at each hole. A net score of par therefore gave each player two points; net birdie equivalent to three points; and net eagle stood for four points; and a net bogey for one point.
The winners’ card consisted of an outward half of 23 and an inward half of 24 points, having started on the back nine in the shotgun format with 41 teams. Competing for the cup, each team played five net birdies and five net eagles.
Both Margaret and Graham shared the stage equally with each contributing on nine holes during the round. The pair used the Betterball format to perfection and scored points on every hole.
The Champions were closely pursued by several teams on 46 points, with the runners up spot going to Michael Engelhardt and Michael McKee, edging out John Mooney and Nigel Bembridge on a back nine count back.
The day was a tremendous success with competitors able to view and experience INFINITI cars on display, several players including raffle winners Andy Scanlan got an opportunity to test drive the INFINITI of their choice for a weekend.
Club Captain Terry Vaughan conducted the prize giving with Nathalie Garino representing INFINITI.
