Saadiyat Beach Golf Club hosts ‘Luckiest Ball on Earth’ qualifying event
Saadiyat Beach Golf Club member Ornella Parigi is in with a chance of securing an exciting opportunity to rub shoulders with and compete against the world’s top players next month at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai. Ornella won the Saadiyat Beach Golf Club’s Rosewood Bowl tournament with a net score of 69 to qualify for the ‘Luckiest Ball on Earth’ grand final. The winner of the final will earn the right to tee-off alongside the professionals in the DP World Tour Championship Rolex Pro-Am on November 21st.
“Unexpectedly, I have won this contest and now feel more anxious than happy,” said Ornella, who comes from Venice in Italy. “However, I will be doing my best to have the chance to win this place on the Pro-Am and maybe if I’m lucky enough I will play with an Italian player!”
Saadiyat Beach Golf Club hosted the qualifiers in early September, which also gave non-members the opportunity to secure a spot through the GreyHawk Open, and was won by Steve Wade who finished with a net score of 84.
The European Tour’s top 60 golfers will return to Dubai for The DP World Tour Championship, the final event of the 2012 Race to Dubai, from November 22-25.
