Richardsons family battle in first MMI Stableford

The New Year saw the introduction of the MMI Open Stableford Series which even after just one event looks set to be one of the most popular monthly events in the Al Hamra calendar.

Players from all over the UAE competed in the Stableford format which saw the top two prizes being claimed by the family duo of Mike and Kathy Richardson.

There could be only one winner and with a brilliant 38 points it was Kathy who took the spoils beating Mikes excellent 36 points. Third place was won by Karen Mallinson after a card play off against Estelle Byrne. Both players managed 35 points though with 21 points to Estelle’s 16 over the back nine it was Karen who clinched the third spot.

As well as the main prizes MMI gave players the opportunity to play for one of the four nearest the pin prizes on offer. These were won by – John Watts 4th, Estelle Byrne 7th, Phil Mallinson 11th and Pat Mottershead 15th.
