Riaz and Tsarong claim 5th Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge in Muscat

Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge (XCGC) 2014 held its fifth qualifying round at the Almouj Golf Course, The Wave, Muscat, Oman, on Saturday, May 31.

On the day, 74 players challenged the Greg Norman-designed course and Faiz Riaz and Tenzin Tsarong of team Buildmart Oman emerged as winners from among 37 teams, with a total score of 62. Runners-up were Kevin and Karen D’Amours from team PDO with a net score of 67, while third place was claimed by Mark Cameron and Sajali Bin Suip from team RayOman with a net score of 68.

Nearest the Pin awards for the day were claimed by Aaron O’Hara for ECCO’s Hole 4, Bret Archer for Skandia’s Hole 14 & Straightest Drive Hole 3, and Geetesh Tamse for PWS’s Hole 17.

Longest Drive awards went to Tenzin Tsarong for PWS’s Hole 6, Nasaruddin Mohamed for Crystal Gallery’s Hole 10, and ECCO’s Straightest Drive Hole 12 Award was claimed by Salim Al Harthy.

RAK Tourism’s Hole in One prize – 7-night stay at Waldorf Astoria with golf at Al Hamra and Tower Links golf courses – remains unclaimed.

The winning team of the fifth qualifier will join the four previous and future qualifying round winners in the two-day, 36-hole grand final to be played at Tower Links and Al Hamra golf courses, with an overnight stay at Waldorf Astoria, RAK, at the end of this year.
