Rest of the World Secure Narrow Victory over Asia at Emirates Golf Club

The annual match play championship between Asia and Rest of the World produced a terrific contest over the Faldo Course. The Rest of the World team, captained by Dick Purchase, secured a one point victory over Asia. There were 18 points up for grabs for the 72 strong field and it was Purchases’ team that prevailed by clinching 9.5 points to Asia’s 8.5.

The stand out performers for the Rest of the World outfit were, Maureen & Robert Platt, Chris & Tony Hutchinson and Alan & Lorraine Main, all with comprehensive victories.
Rohit Gupta, the Asian team captain, handed Dick Purchase the trophy to make the overall score in the series 4-2 to Asia.

Also in the prizes were Jacqui Barry, Maureen Platt, Tony Hutchinson and Surjeet Namli for their accuracy on the nearest the pin prize holes.
The longest drive prizes were won by Chris Purchase and Jega.
