Recent graduation ceremony saw the finale of Al Badia Golf Clubs Junior Development Program.

The 24 week program ran during the winter season of 2011/2012 and covered all areas of golf from putting to playing on the championship course. The event was organized to recognize the achievements of all participants on the program and reward some outstanding achievements.

Over 200 people attended to watch their future stars collect their end of year progress reports and their grades for The Junior Development Programme. A New addition to the program from previous years was the ‘skills days’ which involved the children running through a series of challenges and their results being monitored over the 24 weeks.

Al Badia Golf Pro, Mathew Parker, said, “Through effort and dedication the 144 students on the program improved by an average of 31% during the program.”

The highest honor to be received at the graduation was the ‘Spirit Award’ which is awarded to the Junior who showed the best etiquette, ambition, dedication, improvement and was an ambassador for the program. The winner of the award was Karan Dhamecha who showed great desire to improve and lead by example in all facets.

“Karan is a prime example of how all juniors should look at wanting to improve in any sport. Each day his attitude and eagerness to do his best grew and has resulted in a significant improvement. All of us at the Club are proud to have him join our membership family and look forward to watching him grow as a person and golfer,” explained Mathew Parker.

The Junior Development Program resumes in September and will see the program continue to evolve to offer the best opportunities for developing physical literacy and sport skills.
