Quiros brings the party back down to Earth

Current Omega Dubai Desert Classic holder Carlos Quiros leads

Day 2 has ended with glorious Dubai sunshine here at the Jumeirah Earth Course.
Firstly, you will have to excuse all the puns in my notes today. ;-)

With everyone’s eyes on who will win the season-long battle for the title, it was good to see others emerging to claim the battle for Earth. Lawrie rolled back the clock yesterday but failed to improve his lead after starting on literally on fire (sorry to use the other Jumeirah Golf course name, just had too)  he birdied 3 of the first 4 holes but his round from then on was a real mixed bag and he finished 1+.

Storming through was the current Omega Dubai Desert Classic holder Carlos Quiros who shot a powerful 64 to take the lead by 4 shots finishing with a field punishing eagle on the last. He was his usual bubbly and confident self in the press conference after and is definitely in pole here, well in my opinion anyway.

Donald and Mcilroy finale still has a lot to play out over the next 2 days as Rory didn’t create the dizzy heights of yesterdays back 9 finishing on 1- for the round which included uncharacteristic bogies on the last 2 holes. Donald, on the other hand, seems to be playing his steady game and shot a 4 under an improvement on yesterday sneaking up the leaderboard.

Hanson yesterdays leader only could manage a par round but he is still in clear second place. Other rounds of note were from Robert Rock 69 putting him in 4th, Paul Casey shot a 66 to leave him in 5th, Larrazabal shot a 68 to find himself in joint seventh.

It is all bubbling nicely now, hope your either coming tomorrow or watching on TV? I can now hear the village entertainment playing in the night air, I think it is time for me to stroll out of here and get ready for an early one tomorrow.
