Quarter Final line up reached in the UAE SAIF Zone Golf Society league

This weekend saw the final round of group fixtures for SAIF-Zone and BMW leagues played at SGSC.

As with the SNTTA and WWG leagues, all 4 teams going into this final round at the top of their leagues managed to retain their positions and qualify through to the quarter finals. The lucky four teams are Darjeeling, Gulf Rock, Motts B and Sharjah Golfing Buddies.

In the SAIF Zone league, Darjeeling continued their fine form to win both of their matches against S.L.A.G.S. gaining them 21 points. Finishing in second spot with 19 points, Gulf Rock also won both of their matches against Sultans of Swing. KEGS 1 managed to jump to third place with two wins against the Lebanese Golf Society.

Mott MacDonald B retained the top spot in the BMW league with 23 points thanks to one win and one loss against Sharjah Golfing Buddies. Rory Thompson and Rob Russell’s 5&3 win meant that their unbeaten record remains intact. The one win for Sharjah Golfing Buddies (20 points) was all they needed to qualify just ahead of Etihad (17 points). Two wins for Etihad against TOILers (7 points) could have meant that, had Sharjah Golfing Buddies not managed a point, there would have been a count back with both finishing on 17 points. Despite being a man down, Mott Macdonald A (4 points) managed a tie and a loss against the Nepalese Golf Society (14 points).
