Powerplay Golf comes to Dubai

New Evening par 3 Leagues to start at Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club
Local golfers are being given an exciting new challenge thanks to the launch of ‘Powerplay Golf’ evening leagues, a new format of the game introduced by Dubai Golf over the par 3 courses at the Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club.

A first for Dubai and a first for night golf, Powerplay Golf is a new nine-hole form of golf featuring two flags on each hole, providing golfers the ultimate risk and reward test. Play it safe for the easier positioned white flag or go for the harder black to double your stableford points for a birdie or better. With limited ‘powerplays’ it is a team challenge of both strategy and shot selection.

Speaking at the launch of ‘Powerplay’ Golf, Chris May, General Manager- Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club Golf Club said;

“Powerplay golf is another innovative first for Dubai Golf, offering local golfers a new opportunity to test their skills in a fun and friendly team competition. As an evening league series played over the par 3 course, it is ideal for those with busy lifestyles or golfers who are not associated with a local club but still want to compete on a regular basis.

“Competitively priced, with leagues on either a Monday night or Wednesday night throughout November, January and March played in the heart of Dubai, I’d urge anyone interested in teaming up to take on the Powerplay challenge to enter now as it’s bound to prove popular with local golfers.”

Sponsored by TNT, the exciting new golfing concept for Dubai will be played as a Monday and Wednesday night evening league series for teams of two players, with a named substitute. Golfers have the choice of entering one of six leagues. The leagues are played over five consecutive weeks, with leagues starting at the beginning of November, January and March at the Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club. Each team will enter their best four scores, with the top six teams in league invited to league final in April, before a grand final in May with the best of both leagues going head to head.
